Dishcloth & Towel Set
Size: 11” wide x 14” long hand towel with buttoned looped top.
Materials: 2- 100g hanks of Fantasy Naturale, one in each of 2 colors. Colors shown: 9703 (print) 1112 solid.
Needles: size 7 needles, 1 safety pin; 1 large button.
Towel:
With the print, loosely cast on 64 sts.
Row 1: Knit. Row 2: Knit.
Row 3, 5, 7, and 9: K4, *(p2, k4) repeat from * to end. Row 4, 6, 8, and 10: P4, *(k2, p4) repeat from * to end.
Repeat rows 1- 10 until a total of 70 rows have been worked from the beginning.
Finish as below working decreases and button loop with the solid color. There will be enough yarn still left in this second hank to work the matching dishcloth.
Decreases:
Row 1: *(K2tog); repeat from * to end. (32 sts).
Row 2: *(P2tog); repeat from * to end. (16 sts).
Knit 31 rows on the 16 sts. At about the 9th row, place a pin at the center of the row to mark where the button will be placed. Buttonhole row (row 34): K1, k2tog, k3, k2tog, yo twice, k5, k2tog, k1. (14 sts).
Row 35: Knit, dropping one of the yarn overs. Row 36: K1, k2tog, knit to last 3 sts., k2tog, k1. (12 sts).
Row 37: Knit.
Row 38: K1, k2tog, knit to last 3 sts., k2tog, k1. (10 sts).
Row 39: Knit.
Row 40: K1, k2tog, knit to last 3 sts., k2tog, k1. (8 sts).
Row 41: Knit.
Row 42: Bind off. Weave in ends. Block to flatten if desired. Sew a big button on where the pin was placed.
Dishcloth:
Loosely cast on 40 sts.
Knit 2 rows, then begin pattern:
Row 1 & 2: Knit. Row 3, 5, 7, and 9(RS): K4, *(p2, k4) repeat from * to last 6 sts, end p2, k4. Row 4, 6, 8, and 10(WS): K4, *(k2, p4) repeat from * to last 6 sts, end k2, k4.
Repeat rows 1 - 10 until a total of 50 rows have been worked from the beginning.
Knit 4 rows and bind off. Weave in all ends.
