When piece measures 12.5 (14.5 ,16.5)” shape shoulder and neckline.
Row 1 & 3 (RS): K 6 (8, 8) sts, P 31 (33, 39) sts, K 6 (8, 8) sts
Row 2 & 4 (WS): P6 (8, 8)sts, P 31 (33 39) sts, P6 (8, 8) sts
Row 5: P 6 (8, 8) sts,
Bind off 31 sts, P 6(8,8) sts, turn.
Working with just the 6(8,8) sts on the right shoulder (RS) knit 3 rows of garter stitch, bind off 6(8,8) sts. Rejoin yarn for left shoulder. With WS facing knit 3 rows of garter stitch. Bind off.
Finishing:
Lightly block pieces to measurements. Pin pockets into place (top of pocket approx. 6” from the bottom cast on edge) and use mattress stitch to attach pockets on front of sweater, with gathered edge of pocket at the top. Sew shoulder seams 2.5” from edges. Set in sleeves by placing a marker at the center of the top of sleeve. Use the marker as the placement at the shoulder seams. Sew sleeve seams and side seams.
Weave in all ends.
